Early this year Pinterest made some massive changes to what gets prioritized in the feed. The big change is what they call, “Fresh Pins.”
But what qualifies as a “Fresh Pin” and how can you implement this strategy ASAP without making yourself totally crazy? That’s what I want to talk about today.
According to this blog post from a Tailwind interview with Pinterest, fresh pins are:
This could be an old blog post or a lead magnet page or any piece of content that you’ve already created. The caveat is that the old piece of content is getting shared again with a brand new image.
That means that your old content can still be a driver of traffic, conversions, and $$$. And you can schedule these out using Tailwind!
Pretty sweet!
Obviously, right? Anytime you create a new piece of content like a blog post, landing page, or even a social media post that killed, you can share it on Pinterest with that sparkling new image you just created.
New content is always going to be loved by Pinterest.
According to the interview, this one is favored less than new images and new content. But, a new save from your website, is a new pin. So that’s a win!
That means more work. Kind of a bummer, right? There are a few things you can do to, though to make fresh pins without making yourself totally crazy.
Templates are totally worth the time to invest in. You can use Canva, Adobe Photoshop, or Adobe Illustrator to create these for yourself.
Add your branding, fonts, and a few places for photos or illustrations and you can have a few templates created in less than 30 minutes!
But, if graphic design isn’t your thing, or you are still new to design, it could take you a couple of hours to feel like you’ve got a grasp on a template you like.
That’s totally okay! But don’t feel pressured to DIY them. There are other options for you that can save you time.
Creative Market is an awesome tool that I like to shout about from the rooftops! You can find design thing you could ever need to really amp up your game from illustrations and fonts to social media templates (hello, Pin Templates!), mockups, and stock photos.
They have just about anything you could need from so many talented designers!
I created the Fresh Pins image creation service to help you get your time back AND take the burden of fresh image creation off of your plate.
When you purchase a Fresh Pins package, you get to choose what blog posts or pages you want images for and whether or not you want them to match your branding. Then, I create the images and deliver them to your inbox for you to use!
The only thing better than taking the images off your plate? Combining a Fresh Pins monthly subscription with a Pinterest management package.
