You know that feeling when you are about to do something really big and really important for yourself?
And you get excitement that fills your body up with so much hope that you might internally combust.
Then that unwelcome house guest, your blogging fears, show up on your front doorstep, let’s themselves in and start eating the leftovers out of your fridge.
Here’s the deal.
Your fears aren’t going anywhere. But they will change.
You’ll share your first blog post and realize by the 10th that it isn’t so bad.
The “Who am I to be doing this?” imposter syndrome feeling will start to fade away.
But it isn’t all going to happen overnight. Days, weeks and months will pass only for you to realize that your fears have faded.
Remind yourself of the vision. Feel the excitement in your bones. Remember that your success is inevitable. And it all sits on the other side of your fears if you’re willing to take the first step into the deep end.
Would you rather still be afraid of emailing your list or have a list of raving fans that can’t wait to open your emails every week?
Would you rather not post on Instagram out of fear of falling flat or post imperfectly and really connect with your avatar?
How about dealing with the lack of support from your family? The reality is, your family might not get it. Your friends might not get it. You might be the only one that believes that you can do it.
That’s enough.
Your dreams, your vision, they are enough to sustain you. They are your floaties in the deep end of the pool.
And those blogging fears? They’ll just take a back seat for a while. And one day you’ll look back only to realize that they got out of the cab 9 blocks ago.
Show your family what it means to follow a dream.
But more importantly, follow through for yourself.
Because at the end of the day, sometimes you just have to kick your unwelcome house guest to the curb along with those Chinese takeout leftovers from last week!
Do it for you.
